Faculty members are required to stay up-to-date in their respective fields, try to find solutions to future social demands of the geologist, and to ascertain the quality of graduate students' research. Faculty members are actively involved in the development of knowledge through scientific research to ensure that the educational purpose is met.The graduate program is an essential component of this research endeavor, and every effort is made to create an environment that encourages and supports the advancement of faculty and student research.
