About the Department

The Department of Chemistry was established in 2005-2006 as one of the departments of the Faculty of Science - University of Kirkuk with a scientifically integrated teaching staff, where the morning study was opened and 40 students were accepted and the first batch was graduated in 2008-2009 and then the evening study was opened in the Department of Chemistry in 2012-2013

115 students were accepted and master's studies were opened in the department in 2015-2016

Department Objectives

1- Preparing a staff specialized in general chemistry according to the needs of the university and society

2- Expanding the department by building new halls and new educational laboratories

3- Providing modern scientific resources for teaching staff and students alike

4- Raising the scientific level of teachers by providing a special laboratory for research in the department that facilitates them to conduct their scientific research

5- Urging the teaching staff to participate in national and international conferences to gain more experience and form relations with chemistry departments in Iraqi

     and foreign universities

6- Urging students of the third and fourth stages to exert their utmost efforts so that they can apply for postgraduate studies

7- Working on publishing scientific articles and publications in scientific and international journals
