A Lecturer from the College of Education for Pure Sciences Chairs a PhD Defense Committee at the College of Science, Tikrit University
Within the framework of scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi universities, Prof. Dr. Sahib Jumaa Abdulrahman, a faculty member in the Department of Biology, chaired the PhD dissertation defense committee at the College of Science, Tikrit University, for student Alaa Abdul-Wadood Ahmed in the Biology Department.
The study aimed to evaluate the role of several neurotransmitters, including melatonin and serotonin, and several related physiological indicators in patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The study concluded that there is a decrease in the concentration of melatonin and serotonin and most physiological indicators in patients compared to healthy individuals.
At the end of the defense, the dissertation was accepted with a recommendation to award the PhD degree. Prof. Dr. Sahib was honored with a letter of appreciation from the Dean of the College of Science for his great efforts in managing the defense committee and his active participation in enriching the dissertation.
