Master's Thesis Discusses "Evaluation of Serum Amyloid A, IL-1B, and Several Physiological Parameters in Breast Cancer Patients in Kirkuk City"

The College of Education for Pure Sciences discussed a master's thesis titled "Evaluation of Serum Amyloid A, IL-1B, and Several Physiological Parameters in Breast Cancer Patients in Kirkuk City".

The thesis, presented by researcher Danias Rafiq Muhammad Amin, aimed to evaluate certain inflammatory markers, liver and kidney functions, and complete blood count in women with breast cancer. The results showed a significant increase in Serum Amyloid A, liver enzymes, urea, creatinine, and glucose, along with a decrease in white blood cells and hemoglobin compared to the control group. The highest values were observed in the advanced stages of the disease.

The study concluded that these variables, especially Serum Amyloid A, could be adopted as biomarkers for inflammation associated with breast cancer, noting that the blood count might be affected by chemotherapy.

The discussion committee consisted of:
Prof. Dr. Sahib Jumaa Abdulrahman (Chairman)
Assist. Prof. Dr. Khamael Hussein Majeed (Member)
Lect. Dr. Zainab Hassan Majeed (Member)
Prof. Dr. Amira Kamal Muhammad (Member and Supervisor)
