A Faculty Member from the College of Education for Pure Sciences Chairs a Master's Thesis Examination Committee at the College of Education for Human Sciences
Prof. Dr. Dhia Sarhan Khalaf chaired the examination committee for a master's thesis at the College of Education for Human Sciences, University of Kirkuk, entitled:
“The Concept of Liberation, Its Causes, and Its Effects in the Holy Qur'an: A Thematic Study.”
The thesis addressed the concept of liberation in the Holy Qur'an, elucidating its connotations and dimensions, uncovering its underlying causes and motives, and tracing its effects in light of Quranic verses, along with the meanings the concept encompasses regarding the removal of restrictions and injustice, as well as the attainment of human dignity and justice.
The study aimed to highlight the Quranic perspective on liberation, outline its intellectual, humanitarian, and social dimensions, and examine its connection to the values and principles emphasized by the Holy Qur'an in safeguarding human rights and preserving human dignity.
The findings concluded that the concept of liberation in the Holy Qur'an is not confined to material or political aspects, but rather extends to intellectual, human, and social dimensions. It is intrinsically linked to core Quranic objectives and values, foremost among them justice, freedom, responsibility, the eradication of injustice, and the protection of human rights.
At the conclusion of the defense, the thesis was evaluated and its scholarly outcomes were discussed, accompanied by valuable feedback and recommendations aimed at further enhancing the academic contribution of the research.
