Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences Participates in a Doctoral Defense Committee at the University of Kirkuk
The Dean of the College of Education for Pure Sciences, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Raji Ayed, participated in the doctoral defense committee for the faculty member Laila Abdul Samad Akbar (from the College of Education for Pure Sciences). The defense took place at the College of Science, Department of Chemistry, University of Kirkuk.
The dissertation was titled:
The study addressed the preparation of a series of heterocyclic compounds (Imidazoles, Acridines, 4H-Pyrans, Hydrazones) using one-pot multicomponent reactions (three and four components). The chemical structures of the prepared compounds were confirmed via IR, ¹H-NMR, ¹³C-NMR techniques, Mass Spectroscopy, and X-ray Diffraction (XRD).
The dissertation also included an advanced theoretical study using Hirshfeld surface analysis to analyze intermolecular interactions in the solid state, in addition to conducting Molecular Docking using AutoDock software to study the binding affinity of the prepared compounds with several enzymes and biological proteins.
The dissertation was titled:
One-pot multicomponent (three and four) synthesis and characterization of some organic heterocyclic compounds and evaluation of their biological activity
Supervised by:
- • Assist. Prof. Dr. Saad Salem Jasim
- • Prof. Dr. Mustafa Raji Ayed
