Prof. Dr. Diaa Sarhan, a faculty member at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, participated in the defense of a doctoral dissertation at Tikrit University, titled: "Al-Durr Al-Laqeet from Al-Bahr Al-Muheet by Ibn Maktoum Al-Hanafi: Abu Hayyan’s Responses on Grammatical Issues to Al-Zamakhshari and Ibn Atiyah". The defense took place in Salah Al-Din Hall at the College of Islamic Sciences.

The dissertation included an in-depth scientific study of the "Al-Durr Al-Laqeet" manuscript, highlighting its scientific importance due to the grammatical evidence it contains, which contributed to reinforcing Abu Hayyan's opinions and favoring them in his responses found in the book "Al-Bahr Al-Muheet", particularly in controversial issues with Al-Zamakhshari and Ibn Atiyah.

The participation of Prof. Dr. Diaa Sarhan in this scientific gathering comes within the framework of the College of Education for Pure Sciences' support for academic activities and the enhancement of scientific cooperation between Iraqi universities.
