Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Dr Omran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Assistant Professor Dr Amjad Abawi Salih, the College organised its annual World Oral Health Day Festival, which included the First Job Fair. The event represented a distinguished academic and community initiative that underscored the importance of promoting health awareness and aligning educational outcomes with labour market demands.
The festival was attended by the Director General of the Kirkuk Health Directorate, Dr Arjan Mohammed, the Assistant Director General of the Kirkuk Health Directorate, several college deans, as well as a number of academics, official figures, and dentists, in addition to broad student participation.
The event featured a diverse range of activities, including the presentation of students’ projects, innovations, and scientific experiments; educational displays illustrating the importance of oral and dental health care; the exhibition of distinctive handicrafts; free medical examinations for attendees; and the organisation of a charity bazaar.
The festival also included the First Job Fair, with the participation of a large number of companies and institutions from various sectors, particularly the food and medical sectors, as well as companies specialising in dental products. This initiative aimed to create opportunities for collaboration and to provide employment prospects for graduates.
The organisation of this event reflects the College of Dentistry’s commitment to community service, the promotion of health culture, and the support of its students and graduates by connecting them with the needs and expectations of the labour market.
