The College of Dentistry at the University of Kirkuk / Continuing Education Unit organized a three-day training course titled “Combating Financial and Administrative Corruption within Higher Education Institutions,” attended by the Dean and the college staff.
The course was delivered by Asst. Prof. Dr. Samer Shihab Hamid.
On the first day, the course addressed the conceptual and legislative framework for combating corruption, explaining that despite the vital role of higher education institutions in human development and societal progress, they may still be affected by forms of corruption that weaken their efficiency and reduce public trust.
The course aimed to enhance institutional awareness of corruption risks, introduce the legal and regulatory framework for combating corruption in Iraq, develop early-detection skills, and promote a culture of transparency and accountability within the university work environment.
