As part of its distinguished academic and scholarly engagement, and in support of the advancement of scientific research and postgraduate studies, the Dean of the College of Basic Education, Prof. Dr. Ali Hussein Ali, chaired the Master’s thesis defense committee in the Department of History, College of Education for Humanities, University of Kirkuk, for postgraduate student Mahmoud Turki Mahmoud.
The student defended his thesis entitled:
“Uyaynah ibn Hisn al-Fazari: A Study of His Biography and Role in Public Life.”
The defense was conducted in a rigorous academic atmosphere characterized by constructive scholarly dialogue and focused scientific discussion. The thesis examined the personality of Uyaynah ibn Hisn al-Fazari by studying his biography and tracing his positions and roles in public life, as well as the political and social events and transformations associated with them during the historical period in which he lived. The study contributes to enriching historical scholarship and sheds light on a historical figure who played a notable role in the affairs of public life during his era.
The defense was attended by a number of academics and scholars. During the session, the student’s research efforts were evaluated, and his methodology, sources, and findings were thoroughly discussed. The committee also provided scholarly comments and recommendations aimed at improving the quality of the thesis and enhancing its research value in accordance with the rigorous academic standards adopted in postgraduate studies.
