A scientific visit for students of the Petroleum Engineering Department

A scientific visit by students of the Petroleum Engineering Department at the College of Engineering at Kirkuk University to Dibs Dam
Under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Celnik Akram, and under the supervision of the Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department, Assistant Professor, Dr. Adnan Ajam Abdul Mohamed.
Among the activities complementary to teaching, which scientific departments are keen to accomplish, are scientific visits to sites and projects related to the specializations and teaching subjects in the departments, which consolidate and enhance concepts among students. Accordingly, the Petroleum Engineering Department conducted a scientific visit to the Dibs Dam project.
The visit was attended by the first-year students, accompanied by the department’s teachers, and under the direct supervision of Dr. Abbas Falah, a lecturer in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, and engineer Sahar Ali Akbar. The project's annexes were reviewed, including the dam's body, its gates, the waterway, maintenance and filling tunnels, and the seepage areas. The visit included answers to many of the students’ questions about the enclosure mechanism, its locations, calculation of its quantities and materials used, and a detailed explanation from the accompanying delegation on the parts of the project and the way each part works and its integration with the rest of the parts.
All thanks and appreciation to the delegation accompanying the visit from the employees and members of the dam project for the detailed information and explanations they provided, and thanks to the students who showed cooperation and commitment to wearing safety clothing and showed the side of the university student who is educated and maintains cleanliness.
