The ninth session of consensus of the Council of the College of Engineering at the University of Kirkuk
Headed by the Dean of the College and the Chairman of the Council, Prof. Dr. Respected Glink Akram Omar / Dean of the College and Chairman of the Council, and in the presence of the Council members, the College of Engineering Council held its ninth session for the academic year (2023-2024) in the College Council meeting room,. In the presence of all the esteemed members of the Council, namely:
1. M.D. Falah Muhammad Ahmed / Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs.
2. A.M.D. Majed Hussein Hamad/Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs.
3. Prof. Dr. Taimour Abdel Majeed Ibrahim / Head of the Civil Engineering Department.
4. A.M.D. Muhammad Adel Ismail is a replacement for Prof. Adnan Ajam Abd / Head of the Petroleum Engineering Department.
5. A.M.D. Hussein Kamal Anwar / Head of the Electrical Engineering Department.
6. A.M.D. Iyad Arab Ghaidan / Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department.
7. M.D. Sarmad Kamal Fakhr El-Din / Head of the Chemical Engineering Department.
8. Dr. Ali Saad Al-Din Abbas / Secretary of the College Council.
The session began with the Council President welcoming the Council members, wishing them continued success in serving the college and developing the academic process. Then, the agenda items were discussed and the necessary recommendations and decisions were taken.
The meeting began with a discussion of the directives of the University President, which included preparing the requirements for implementing the Bologna Track study program, which aims to improve the quality of higher education and achieve compatibility with international standards. The directives also included educating students about the importance of preserving public property and adhering to cleanliness and uniforms as part of the requirements for belonging to the academic environment, as part of university identity. It was also emphasized to adhere to official working hours and civil defense procedures.
The Council President stressed the necessity of completing the requirements of the Bologna track study program and facilitating the registration of accepted students. It also called for adherence to university uniforms and the proper performance of duties. The Council's efforts were focused on directing and coordinating academic and administrative activities in the College of Engineering, for the purpose of implementing the goals of the Bologna Process, which include improving the quality of educational services and interaction between faculty and students. The Dean and Chairman of the Council also stressed the need to follow up on the implementation of the decisions and recommendations that were taken during the meeting, and to submit periodic reports regarding the progress of work and the challenges presented, if any, in this path.
During the session, the pioneering research projects proposed in the scientific departments were discussed, and the importance of these projects in promoting scientific research and innovation in the fields of engineering was emphasized. The discussion focused on the benefits of these projects in developing knowledge and contributing to solving contemporary engineering problems. Important decisions have been made regarding these projects, which contribute to strengthening the research and development environment within the college. The need to support these projects with sufficient means and resources to ensure the delivery of effective and tangible results was emphasized.
With this, the session concluded by making the necessary decisions and recommendations to ensure the effective progress of work and the achievement of the college’s goals.
