English Language Department

The Department of English Language/Basic Education College was established in the academic year 2016–2017, and the number of accepted students was 111. But now there are four stages: morning and evening.

Department objectives:

The general goal of the department is to graduate male and female university teachers to teach the English language subject and work in primary and middle schools in the governorate. The specific goal is to teach students in the English language department the skill of speaking and writing and familiarity with the basics of the English language in topics such as grammar, phonetics, morphology, the method of scientific research, and English literature in its various specializations, such as poetry. Theater, novels, and short stories.

Department activities:

1. A number of scientific studies were completed by professors of the English Department.

2. Forming guidance committees in the department to direct and advise students within the college and students residing in the internal departments.

Future vision of the department:

The English Language Department was established (2016–2017) to contribute to the preparation of specialized scientific and professional cadres who are fully qualified to carry out the task of teaching and capable of leadership and building the new generation, creating awareness and faith among the graduates, and consolidating the lofty principles in them, noting that the initial period of study in the department is four years. Graduation grants a certificate. Bachelor of Education in the English language. One of the future visions of the department is to contribute to the implementation of plans and programs regarding the preparation of scientific staff as well as the development of scientific knowledge by stimulating the scientific research movement and contributing to conferences and seminars related to the department.

Department objectives:

The English Language Department at the Basic Education College seeks to provide the best service to the community by graduating an elite group of university English language teachers for all academic levels in a way that serves the speaking of English as a global language through an accurate diagnosis of the community’s need to develop this language to enter most educational, research, consulting, and administrative fields. And others using modern means.

The English Language Department at the College of Basic Education aims to:

1: Preparing a generation of university teachers with the ability to teach English vocabulary in these educational sessions.

2: Preparing a graduate who uses the English language and is proficient in the four skills: A: comprehension; B: speaking; C: reading; D: writing

3: Enabling students to rely on themselves to understand what they read and hear in the English language outside the boundaries of previous study.

4: Creating a balanced student personality behaviorally and emotionally.

5: Developing students’ literary taste and aesthetic sense through teaching English vocabulary.

6: Using technologies to achieve integration between other methodological aspects and introducing them as an essential part of the department’s education programs.
