The College of Medicinal and Industrial Plants / Kirkuk was established at Kirkuk University in 2024 and includes two academic departments:
- Department of Medicinal and Industrial Plants
- Department of Food Science
Students who graduate from the sixth year of middle school are admitted based on the central distribution system for students in the scientific stream through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The top graduates from agricultural institutes or outstanding employees from various government departments are also accepted through their respective ministries.
The study duration at the college is four years, after which students are awarded a bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences in their chosen specialization. Agricultural professional unions grant the title of agricultural engineer to graduates of agricultural colleges.
The college follows a system of eight courses over eight semesters (each lasting fifteen weeks). During this time, students acquire comprehensive knowledge in agricultural sciences within their specialized fields, following a semester-based system.
