The College of Agriculture/Hawija at Kirkuk University organized an awareness symposium under the title “Combating the phenomenon of harassment,” with the participation of the dean, employees and students of the college.
The symposium included a lecture delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Hala Mahmoud Hamid, on the types of verbal and behavioral harassment, and revealed its social and psychological causes and home education. The symposium also discussed methods of harassment and ways to reduce it, especially among students in universities, and the psychological and social effects it has on the harasser and those affected by him.
At the conclusion of the symposium, the lecture stressed the need to increase awareness among students to avoid this phenomenon, and encourage them to spread the spirit of friendly relations and report abnormal cases to work to address them before any problem of this kind occurs.
