The College of Agriculture/Hawija launches the “United Against Tobacco” campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of smoking

The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit launched the "United Against Tobacco" campaign, aiming to increase awareness among the youth about the dangers of smoking. This is achieved through health education, changing misconceptions, and encouraging smoking cessation.

Professor Dr. Khaled Khalil Ahmed, the dean of the college, explained that the campaign was initiated to raise health awareness among the college students. He pointed out that the campaign includes the dissemination of educational materials designed to address the health risks of all tobacco products. Emphasis is placed on the need to protect vulnerable groups, particularly teenagers, from tobacco consumption. He highlighted the significant expenditure on tobacco industry marketing and promotion targeting teenagers and youth. The campaign aims to counter deceptive attempts that use various direct and indirect means to normalize tobacco as an accepted habit and custom in society. He concluded by emphasizing the importance of the campaign in raising students' awareness to prevent them from entering the smoking circle and assisting smokers in quitting.
