The College of Computer Science and Information Technology Organizes a Workshop on Thesis Formatting Using MS Word at the University of Kirkuk

The Software Department at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Kirkuk, organized a workshop entitled: "Systematic Thesis Formatting: Using Styles, Captions, and Creating a Table of Contents (TOC) in MS Word."

The workshop aimed to equip students and researchers at the University of Kirkuk with the technical skills necessary to prepare polished academic theses in accordance with methodological standards.

Presented by Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Fakhrudeen, the workshop covered the following key topics:

• Using Styles: Ensuring consistent and hierarchical formatting for headings and text within the thesis.
• Page and Numbering Management: Applying page breaks and utilizing various numbering patterns to organize the document structure.
• Automating Tables of Contents: Generating indices automatically and accurately to facilitate easy access to the thesis contents.
• Labeling Figures and Tables: Inserting captions to ensure organized referencing of figures and tables.
• Academic Best Practices: Optimizing the use of MS Word to reduce formatting errors and save time during thesis preparation.

The Department administration emphasized that this workshop is part of a series of scientific activities aimed at enhancing students' efficiency in preparing research and theses, aligning with academic quality requirements.
