8.     أهداف المقرر

1-    Identifying locations and functions of speech organs.

2-    Distinguishing and producing all English sounds and knowing their features.

3-    Using phonetic symbols in order to transcribe English sounds.

4-    Producing sounds and clusters that cause problems for Arabic speakers.

5-    Recognizing supra-segmental features, such as stress, rhythm, and intonation.

6-    Understanding how to use some basic procedures in phonemic analysis.
