The Vision

Raise the scientific and technical level of graduates in the field of Horticulture and Landscape Design (Fruits, Vegetables, Floriculture plants in addition to Garden Engineering and Design), whose capable scientifically and technically to meet the labor market's needs according to the college vision.  

The Message

The message of the  department is to prepare  Agricultural engineers specialized in the field of (fruits , vegetables and floriculture sciences),  who are  qualified to meet the labor market's needs (local and regional market), capable to conduct scientific research and transfer the  agricultural scientific and applied results to the community and  environment to keep up with the latest global developments in Agriculture field which eventually support the purpose of the college in  community service.

The Objectives

1. Developing the curriculums related to (fruits, vegetables, floriculture plants, garden engineering and design) in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses to keep up with the latest scientific directions.
   2. Preparing developed and special scientific programs in field of horticulture science (fruits, vegetables, floriculture plants , garden engineering and design) in light of national standards of academic programs.
2. Continues preparing of graduates to be able to apply their scientific and technical knowledge and the newest agricultural technology to serve and develop the community and compete on different local, regional and international levels. In addition, the department offers agricultural extension in its various fields and transfers knowledge, information and latest agricultural technology to the farmers in order to adopt and apply them in their fields.
   4. Cooperating with the college departments, other colleges, and research centers to conduct joint researches which serve the community.
   5. Offering experiences, studies and technical consultations related to fruits, vegetables, floriculture plant as well as garden engineering and design for various public and private sections through the agricultural consulting office.
3. Preparing database in the department for the educational and research aspects along with data of academic staff.
   7. Building a continuous monitoring and evaluation system in the department to ensure continuous improvement of performance in the field of education, scientific research, community Service and environment development.
