About Us:
Founded in 1998, College of Law was a part of Mosul University at the beginning of its establishment. In 2003, Kirkuk University was established where the College of Law became one of the first academic departments of the University. Since that time, College of Law has significantly contributed in the elaboration of eligible legal cadres to take the responsibility of high positions in different places of governmental institutions and providing the community with professional solicitors and barristers. We are very keen also to provide the community with our scientific and consultative services that satisfy the current and prospective needs of the community from different aspects; including:
- Elaboration of eligible legal cadres to take the responsibility of high positions in different places of governmental institutions and providing the community with professional solicitors and barristers.
- Elaboration of very well- educated cadres by the notion of Democracy, Liberty and Human Rights.
- Arranging seminars and workshops that aim to enhance the legal and political awareness of the Academic and Administrative staff of the University to the valid regulations of the Higher Education in Iraq.
- Holding training programs in different topics in Law and Politics for the employees of different governmental institutions.
- Hosting scientific conferences in Law and Politics that seek to strengthen the academic knowledge and the interaction between the national and international academic expertise in Law in Politics.
Our Objectives:
The aim of College of Law and Political Science is the contribution to the building up of the legal knowledge either by providing the advisory services about the valid laws and regulations or the dissemination of legal culture and awareness through conferences, workshops and training programs.
The College also seeks to enlighten the international researchers and specialists in law to the Iraqi legal system through publishing journal articles, books, and dissertations and theses written by our postgraduate students in the discipline of Comparative Law.
From other hand, our aim is not only limited to the notional and scientific building of our students’ knowledge in Law, but also we are very keen to develop the spiritual and moral aspects of our students by implanting the true meaning of the citizenship, loyalty in work and the innovation in liberality. Because we believe that both community and State cannot be developed without the cooperation between its people.
