The Faculty of Science at the University of Kirkuk discussed a master's thesis on the study of the hydrogeological and hydrochemical of groundwater in the area of ​​Qara Hanger north-east of Kirkuk, by student Rivan Shehab Abdul Rahman.

The study concluded that the ground water in the study area is found in the formation of ternary and quaternary sediments, and the direction of movement. The researcher recommended the construction of more small dams in sewage and deep valleys in the study area in order to collect surface water and avoid torrents or use it as surface water reservoirs for Irrigation and tourism can be used in the dry season, and groundwater management is necessary in the study area to regulate and control the drilling of wells by determining the effective distance between the wells, depth, productivity and operating hours to ensure better investment of groundwater.revan1
