The Faculty of Science at the University of Kirkuk discussed a master's thesis on the study of the hydrogeological and hydrochemical of groundwater in the area of ​​Qara Hanger north-east of Kirkuk, by student Rivan Shehab Abdul Rahman.

The study concluded that the ground water in the study area is found in the formation of ternary and quaternary sediments, and the direction of movement.
