The Department of History at the College of Education for Humanities at the University of Kirkuk organized a scientific lecture on Baghdad and its scientific status in the Abbasid era in the presence of teaching and students of the department.

Juma Abdullah Yassin discussed the history and scientific status of Baghdad, touching on the scientific councils in Baghdad, houses of wisdom and papers, focusing on the interest of the Abbasid caliphs and their care for science and its impact on the development and prosperity of the scientific movement and the diversity of science between the legitimate and mental sciences. The importance of displaying the history of the capital Baghdad as a gateway to science and scientists from which the light of science and the elimination of ignorance, which produced a number of scientists, as well as a detailed explanation of the history of its origins and what crises have gone through.baghdad1
