Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Professor Abbas Hassan Taqi, under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Arts Assistant Professor Ali Hussein Ali, the College organized a scientific symposium entitled Kirkuk Literary Group a portrait of contemporary Iraqi culture, with the participation of language and literature professors in the college, Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Alwan Hassan and Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Arts for Scientific Affairs Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Daham Khalaf.

The symposium, organized by the Department of Arabic Language at the Faculty of Arts in collaboration with the General Union of Writers and Writers / Kirkuk Branch, aims to highlight the efforts of the literary group of Kirkuk and its impact on the development of literary and cultural movement in the province of Kirkuk and the whole of Iraq and its effective role in spreading literary culture away from fanaticism and racism. The values ​​of peaceful co-existence and reflect a bright image of civilization on Iraqi society.
The symposium opened with the reading of verses from the Holy Quran, the national anthem and the reading of Surat Al-Fatihah on the lives of the martyrs of Iraq. The sessions were followed by the sessions of the symposium, which hosted a group of literary writers and writers in Kirkuk who presented their literary experiences over many years in modernizing and modernizing the literary movement in Kirkuk.The sessions were moderated by the Head of Arabic Language Department. Salwa Zarzis, who presented during her speech at the symposium a presentation on the literary group of Kirkuk and the history of its formation, praising its great role in strengthening the literary literary movement of Iraq through the work of its distinguished members in the field of language and literature, literary and poetic arts and criticism and their serious attempts to renew Iraqi literature.
The seminar was attended by the participants of the symposium and its topics. The seminar was held in the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Amjad, with a distinguished presentation of the poetry and literary touches, as well as his valuable remarks during the symposium.The seminar recommended the issuance of a special cultural magazine in the book and literature of Kirkuk, and urged graduate students to address the literary community of Kirkuk and their literary achievements in research and research, as well as the focus of literary efforts to promote a culture of peaceful coexistence in the Iraqi society.At the end of the symposium, certificates of appreciation were distributed to the pioneers of culture and literature from the participants in the symposium in recognition of their literary efforts and their literary and cultural gifts.art1
