University of Kirkuk celebrates the anniversary of the Halabja tragedy

Under the patronage of Dr. Abbas Hassan Taqi, President of the University of Kirkuk, the University revived the 31st anniversary of the painful Halabja tragedy by standing a minute of silence and reciting Surat Al-Fatihah in the presence of members of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for the province of Kirkuk Mr. Ribwar Taha, Mr. Piston Adel, And a large gathering of university employees and students.


The university president said in his speech that today marks the 31st anniversary of the painful Halabja tragedy that shook the feelings of humanity all over the world. The former regime on this day presented the bombing of Halabja with internationally banned weapons. More than 5,000 Kurdish citizens, Children, women and the elderly, and that the painful humanitarian images and the disaster that have afflicted them do not belong to our Kurdish people and that they have become a human and personal symbol that history has given to the atrocity of the criminal act against innocent civilians.Taqi added that today, as we recall this painful tragedy, call on all to unite and unite and to promote the spirit of peaceful coexistence among our people and to stand up to all aspirations and conspiracies that seek to undermine the unity and stability of our dear country.halabcaAnd delivered on the occasion words denounced the heinous crime committed during the previous regime,It is noteworthy that the University of Kirkuk participates annually in the commemoration of this anniversary through the establishment of many events and activities in all faculties of the University, which emphasizes in its entirety on the need to draw lessons and lessons from this painful tragedy suffered by the children of this city dear.habcha4
