University of Kirkuk organizes its first intellectual conference on the phenomenon of extremism and ways to address it

The University organized its first intellectual conference to study the phenomenon of extremism and ways to deal with it with the participation of religious scholars, thinkers, heads of Islamic federations and researchers from inside and outside Iraq.

The conference aims to study the phenomenon of extremism and atonement, which is considered one of the most dangerous phenomena suffered by the Islamic societies and other societies because of the destructive effects resulting from the terrible practices of killing, intimidation and distortion of the religion and the search for ways to address and propagate moderation and moderation.The third theme was the responsibility of religious and educational institutions and their role in combating extremism, propagating moderate thought, and promoting peaceful co-existence between the two sides. Peoples.The speech was given by the representative of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Mohsen Al-Furaiji, Chairman of the Committee against extremism and extremism in the ministry, and the speech of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Dr. Abbas Hassan Taqi, as well as many words of religious figures from different sects, religions and nationalities, Stressed the rejection of the phenomenon of extremism and terrorism and the infidelity rejected in all religions and human values, and the importance of spreading tolerance and acceptance of the other to achieve community peace and coexistence among members of society, and promote the spirit of citizenship of the Iraqi individual and bring the face Consider the components of the same people.
During the conference, a poem entitled Islam's Approach to the poet Haider Hassouni was sung by the principles of the true Islamic religion which honored the sons of Adam regardless of their religions and races and their emphasis on the brotherhood among the believers and the approach of the Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions in dealing with people with mercy, love and peace.The number of researches participating in the conference reached 23 research papers from researchers from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the University of Kirkuk and other Iraqi universities, religious and social institutions, civil society organizations and human rights.
The conference came out with a number of recommendations, the most important of which is the establishment of intellectual institutions and centers to dismantle extremist thought and reject deviant ideas that distort religion and the legitimate law, and emphasize the role of universities and educational institutions in combating the phenomenon of extremism and propagation of moderate thought and unite efforts among religious scholars of different religions and sects to educate the nation about the dangers of thought And its impact on future generations and to address them in accordance with humanitarian principles and shared religious values.The participants congratulated the presidency of the University of Kirkuk on the success of this noble humanitarian gathering, which contributes to the promotion of peaceful coexistence among the members of the society, appraising the efforts exerted by the University to bring the views closer together and its constant efforts to promote brotherhood and peace.
