Iraq, Turkey in Academic Cooperation

During a meeting with the Head of the Higher Education, Dr. Muhammed Yakta Saraj,

His Excellency, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Abdul Jalel Al-Esa reviewed exchanging faculty members, students and academic experiences according to the inked Memorandum of Understanding with Turkish side.

Dr. Al-Esa praised the Turkish academic and technical cooperation and contributing in inaugurating the Census Center.

His Excellency added that the Ministry is keen on exchanging the experiences with the recognized Turkish universities, increasing cooperation with the Turkish academic institutions and enhancing joint supervising between the two countries’ faculty members.

The two sides reviewed setting mechanisms for Iraqi scholars to study Iraqi history in the Ottoman archives.

The two sides expressed their readiness on academic cooperation and providing joint academic environments.

For his part, Dr. Saraj expressed keenness of the Turkish side on facilitating granting scholarships and fellowships for Iraqi students via official websites.
