1- To create an extensive and comprehensive information base that allows colleges and departments in the university to create a clear and lasting picture of their scientific levels and indicators of progress.
2 - Achieving future plans in the field of education and scientific research in academic political frameworks based on the need of the labor market.
3 - Put forward visions for the future of the University in accordance with new experiences and experiences and continuity of excellence and precedence.
4 - Provide educational programs diversity and flexibility that make them able to deal with reality.
5 - Making training programs and human development a priority for the development of the university in general because the development and progress is subject to a broad scientific base mixed with the work forces at various levels.
The Department of Scientific Affairs comprises three divisions:
1. Mission and Cultural Relations Division.
2- Graduate Studies Division.
3- Division of studies, planning and follow-up.
Division of Missions and Cultural Relations
The Division aims to strengthen the cultural and scientific relations between the University of Kirkuk and the Iraqi universities in all fields that serve the scientific research movement and the exchange of knowledge and expertise with the preparation of bilateral agreements between the university and Arab and foreign universities. The tasks assigned to the Division are as follows:
1- Follow-up the acceptance of postgraduate students, the duration of their studies and their graduation studies, and the completion of the granting of master's and doctorate degrees, with follow-up of the Ministry's books and their dissemination to the faculties.
2 - The Division is interested in inscriptions, seminars, seminars, scientific conferences and academic vacations inside and outside Iraq, extensions, scholarships and bilateral agreements between Iraqi universities and Arab and foreign universities.
3 - Completion of the calendar file on the efficiency of university performance.
4- Completing and following up scientific promotion transactions in all universities and colleges.
5 - Prepare a database to represent the university with the ministry.
Division of study, planning and follow-up
The task of this division is to plan, follow up, coordinate and unify the plans of the colleges in a unified plan in the light of the general objectives and the requirements of the university development and follow up the implementation of decisions issued by the higher authorities and summarize their work in the following:
Studying all the suggestions and recommendations submitted by the Ministry and universities and giving opinions thereon, then circulating them to the colleges, following up the procedures and overcoming the difficulties, if any.
Prepare a university census and provide the ministry with the required information according to schedules according to certain timings.
Providing the Ministry with the statistics of the participants in the final exams and successful and determining the success rates.
Updating the database of teachers per month and sending them to the ministry with the schedules and orders for change
Provide the Ministry with statistics on the system and follow-up research planned and completed and published to the University.
Providing the ministry with the statistics of graduate students.
Preparation of statistical bulletins regarding students admitted and continuing to study, graduates, retirees and deferred students according to the college, department, stage, and morning and evening studies.
Preparation of a university education database that includes information on (name, nationality, gender, general and exact specialization, date of birth, date of appointment, certificate, degree and date of acquisition, position, university and awarding state).
Prepare lists of administrative personnel, technicians and services for permanent and temporary owners distributed by sex and educational achievement.
Preparation of the acceptance plan in the morning, evening and statistical studies of the number of admissions per year.
Maintaining the training programs and workshops that are held in the continuing education centers of the universities and bodies, as well as the ministries and raising the names of candidates for the ministry and follow up their enrollment and completion of the courses.
Coordinating and overseeing the training programs prepared by the faculties of our university to determine the quality of the courses to participate in the evaluation and to prevent overlap between the training courses.
To approach the faculties of our university to provide us with names or numbers of participants in the courses to conduct periodic statistics in the number of participants for each session and the candidates for the participants.
Preparing the final annual report of the university and submitting it to the ministry at the end of each academic year according to the tables received from the ministry.
The Ministry is approached about the development of colleges and scientific departments, opening an evening study, supplementing the requirements for development, issuing orders and follow-up.
The Ministry is approached to change the curricula in the faculties and scientific departments and to receive all recommendations for changing the curricula from the ministry and circulating them to the colleges and following them up.
Consolidation and registration of planned, published and published research published by faculties according to administrative orders.
Division of Graduate Studies
The nature of the work carried out by the Graduate Studies Division:
Organizing files containing academic, academic and scientific information for university students admitted to postgraduate studies (Masters and PhD) in Iraq.
Organizing files that include academic, academic and scientific information for university students admitted to graduate studies at university faculties.
Follow up the books received from the Ministry containing all the instructions and admission regulations in postgraduate studies and circulate them to the colleges to work under them.
Enter the information for all graduate students in a database created by the Ministry and updated periodically.
Issuing university orders for non-objection grants, granting of academic leave, extension of academic leave, granting of scientific title and changing the certificate for holders of postgraduate studies (master's and doctorate) as well as students of preliminary studies (baccalaureate)
