The College of Agriculture / Hawija was established at Kirkuk University in 2014 and includes two scientific departments:
- Department of medicinal and industrial plants.
- Department of Mechanization and Agricultural Equipment.
Students graduating from the sixth year of middle school were accepted according to the central distribution of intermediate studies students in the scientific stream through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Top ten graduates of agricultural institutes or distinguished employees were accepted into various state departments and candidates through their ministries.
The duration of study in the college is four years, after which the student is awarded a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences in his field of specialization, and agricultural professional unions grant the title of agricultural engineer to graduates of colleges of agriculture.
The college’s study system is (8 courses), eight semesters (fifteen weeks), during which the student receives various agricultural sciences in his field of specialization in each course (semester system).
