Vision, mission and goals of the Department of Medicinal and Industrial Plants

Vision:

The department aspires to prepare cadres with a scientific and technical level in the specialty of medicinal and industrial plants by studying the factors affecting the growth of these compounds with a medicinal effect, conducting research and studies that would develop the cultivation of these plants in Iraq, and joint cooperation with various departments and institutions concerned with medicinal plants. . .

The message:

To develop the agricultural sector in Iraq and work to bring about an agricultural renaissance in the industrial and food fields and reach the threshold of self-sufficiency and then contribute to reviving the Iraqi national economy by preserving the national food security of our great country Iraq.

Goals:

The department aims to graduate qualified cadres to manage many agricultural projects such as vegetable oil production factories, industrial laboratories that rely on agricultural products as raw materials, soil and water analysis laboratories, and plant component analysis.
Establishing a unit for medicinal and industrial plants to benefit from them within the framework of supporting the scientific movement and finding ways to refine the educational skills of primary and postgraduate students, in addition to providing the necessary plant and genetic material to implement these students’ research projects in the colleges of agriculture, science, and pharmacy.
Providing scientific and technical consultations to state departments and mixed and private sectors in coordination with the consulting office or using approved means of cooperation between ministries, universities and entities not affiliated with a ministry.
Activating the scientific research movement through participation in scientific conferences and seminars held inside and outside Iraq.
Contributing to administrative and technical staff development programs through theoretical and applied continuing education courses in various scientific disciplines.
