The College of Agriculture/Hawija at Kirkuk University organized a symposium entitled “Climate change and its impact on women,” with the participation of the dean, employees and students of the college.
The symposium, which was delivered by Ms. Ashwaq Abdel Mahmoud, highlighted the necessity of reducing toxic gases emitted from large factories and electric power generation stations, and the importance of increasing reliance on clean energy sources in Iraq and using them in various areas of life and all its aspects, not to mention the necessity of rationalizing citizens’ water consumption, and employing Modern irrigation techniques in major agricultural projects, working to increase green spaces, and continuing afforestation campaigns in Iraq’s cities and provinces.
