The College of Agriculture/Hawija organizes a workshop on the relationship between aphids and ants

The College of Agriculture/Hawija at Kirkuk University organized a workshop entitled “The relationship between aphids and ants,” with the participation of the dean and the college’s employees and students. The workshop included a lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Fadel Abbas Qadir, in which he focused on the type of relationship between aphids and ants, where they both obtain benefits from each other, and the unique alliance between these two organisms provides protection for aphids and food for ants, as ants protect aphids from predators. Like ladybugs, they have recently been found to protect aphids by removing the corpses of infected aphids.
